Unique Hens Party Themes for the 2023 Bride

I think we can all agree that matching satin sashes that read ‘Bride-Tribe’ and pink penis straws are no longer dominating hens party Pinterest boards.

Instead, we are seeing a shift towards a more luxe and curated Bachelorette party theme aesthetic and I for one, am here for it. And, while I’m adoring this new direction the hen’s party aesthetic is taking, I can’t help but feel I’ve seen the same themes on my social feeds on repeat for the past 12 months.

No shade to these hens’ party themes at all – I love any opportunity to pull out my rhinestone cowgirl hat and patterned flairs but if you are looking to add a little spice to your own or best friend’s bachelorette party, pull up a seat and pour yourself a crisp glass of prosecco because I am serving up unique takes on classic bachelorette themes (vision boards for outfits and tablescapes included).

1| bride on cloud 9

This theme is for the bride-to-be, who is a little sophisticated, definitely romantic and a LOT fabulous. Bride on Cloud 9, is a take on the all-white theme - but elevated.

Not only is the name of the hens theme itself a super sweet homage to the bride and grooms love, it’s also the perfect solution for a classy Bride-to-be who wants a creative bachelorette theme idea that is not overdone but still easy enough to execute.

The Outfit

I’m channelling classic white outfits for the entire bachelorette party, but these ensembles need to feature all the extra trimmings. I’m envisioning tulle, ruffles, sparkles, feathers and accents of gold, silver or blue. Essentially, we want our ladies looking hot and heavenly.

The Tablescape

Without a doubt, the main character of this theme is the tablescape. The secret to every unforgettable event is unforgettable food and food always tastes better on a beautiful table.

So, for the Bride on Cloud 9 theme, we are serving up a luxe experience to remember with some high-quality wares. You could absolutely invest in some stunning table decor but another option to achieve this elevated experience without the hefty price tag, is to hire a pre-curated tablescape from us here at TaBelle.

Our delivered to your door scapes take the guess work out of styling your dinner affair and ensures you have the best for your bride-to-be without having to invest. It’s as if our Ethereal scape was made for the Bride on Cloud 9 theme.

The Ethereal scape is raw and beautiful. Its colour palette of brass, white and natural tones is complimented with delicate and detail-rich tableware. Silk runners and stone elements tie the raw features of the Ethereal scape together, creating a heavenly and luxurious feel.

A dreamy table centrepiece would complete the scape. Keep it simple with some white blooms of your choice (my pick would be orchids) or get crafty with cotton filling and create your own DIY cloud centrepiece.

The Styling

This is where all the little extra details come together to breathe life into the, Bride on Cloud 9 theme. You also get to be creative and hands on if you choose with some DIY Bachelorette party decorations.

Alternatively, if you are like me and would prefer to keep your DIY project attempts limited to your eyes only, you can always hire some talent to help. A cloud inspired centrepiece that is suspended above the dining table or used as an entry arch would look absolutely incredible.

You can construct this out of white balloons or a mix of gold and sparkly clear balloons that have cotton filling placed inside them. I have also seen the most stunning installations made completely from cotton filling or synthetic pillow stuffing with fairy lights intertwined into the design. Floating floral installations or hanging flower wall designs could also be incorporated to bring an extra dreamy element to the hens party.

Pops of sparkles can be incorporated with sequin backdrops, bedazzled decorations such as stars or butterflies or a disco ball or two placed within the installation - but I would keep these elements to a minimum so they don’t take away from the ethereal vibe.

Themed Food

As you can imagine, there are so many possibilities to explore when putting together a menu for a bachelorette party and this menu will be hugely dependent on the itinerary of the weekend. So, I have popped together more of a ‘collection’ of menu items that are inspired by the Bride on Cloud 9 theme.

Think champagne flutes topped with fairy floss, coconut meringues, macarons, whipped cream topped desserts, donuts decorated with silver leaf foiling, heart shaped cakes covered in a white butter cream frosting and whipped ricotta or fetadips.

Thinking a little broader, the Bride on Cloud 9 theme screams sophistication and luxury and if I was to plan a menu with this in mind, I’m immediately thinking, scallops, oysters, a leek and goats cheese tart, truffle cream gnocchi, a glorious piece of meat served with buttered greens, a creamy mash potato, and some delicious deconstructed dessert, featuring meringue. Get fabulous with it.

2| Some Like it Hot – Pink (Old Hollywood Glam vibes)

Call me basic, but I will be forever lusting over a pink themed hen’s party. It’s aesthetic as heck, easy and fun to style and just about everyone has a fabulous pink item in their wardrobe that is practically begging for an excuse to be worn.

BUT I will admit, she is a little overdone. So, I have scrolled to the depths of Pinterest and sourced you some inspiration for a Some Like it Hot- Pink themed bachelorette party, where we are draping ourselves in Old Hollywood Glam finery in honour of all our brides-to-be that love voluminous hair, statement lips and a bit of pink and glitz.

The Outfit

Obviously pink. HOWEVER, you could have the entourage sporting pink while the bride-to-be is dressed in white, or of course the other way around.

The only guideline that I strongly encourage you to follow is - all outfits must have at least one of the following features; sparkles, feathers, gloves, statement necklace or earrings, fur or faux fur, a Hollywood dress silhouette (think plunging necklines and low backs), bold shoes, bows or essentially anything giving DRAMA.

The Tablescape

For an extravagant theme, you are going to need an extravagant tablescape. This scape needs to give flirty and glam, a little bit of sass and a poppin’ bubbly amount of fun.

TaBelle’s hireable Blush Scape would be the perfect choice for the Some Like it Hot- Pink, theme. The Blush Scape is bold and vibrant. Its contrasting colour palette of pink, red and white tones makes this scape stands out - and for all the right reasons. The scape features statement pink coupe glasses and vases from Fazeek.

TaBelle can help you earn the title of hostess with the ‘most-ess’ with personalised, printed name cards and menus, delivered to your door with the pre-curated Blush scape. All that’s left is to do is finish this tablescape with a floral centrepiece of roses or a bright bloom of your choice.

The Styling

A champagne tower is immediately what I know this old Hollywood glam-inspired theme needs. I’m envisioning pink, gold and silver decorations and unlike the Bride on Cloud 9 theme, where I cautioned not going overboard with the sparkles, I think this theme calls for bringing out every damn sparkly decoration you have ever lusted over.

Mood lighting is a must and extravagant feathered centrepieces or sheer pink material strategically draped as an arch or from the ceilingwould scream old Hollywood Glam.

Themed Food

If I am completely honest, I think the themed food is secretly the reason why pink-themed bachelorettes have a chokehold on me.

My inner child has full creative licence to run rogue in the kitchen with this theme and the little lady is producing some masterpieces! I’m picturing a sea of pink desserts (cakes, slices, macaroons, doughnuts and biscuits), fairy floss, pink popcorn, a candy station, chocolate-covered strawberries, beetroot dips and prosciutto crostini.

The list of pink-themed appetisers you could whip up for the occasion is endless. However, if you really wanted to embody the Old Hollywood Glam party aesthetic but with a modern twist, I would be looking at hosting a sit-down dinner party that features easy-to-share food.

My menu would feature prawn cocktails served from a martini glass, cheese fondu fountains, and salmon croquettes. I would opt for some cheeky margarita pizzas and rosé pasta to be served as mains and maybe even get a little wild and plate up a pink champagne and strawberry jelly cake for dessert.
